Voices of Clinical Academic Allied Health Professionals

The Voices of Clinical Academic Allied Health Professionals project seeks to create a set of digital stories to celebrate the contributions of allied health professional (AHP) clinical academics to health research, while also sharing experiences of any structural challenges faced to career progression.

The objectives are to generate diverse digital stories to share widely to:

  • celebrate the impact research led by AHP clinical academics has made on the lives of patients and their carers
  • improve visibility and understanding of clinical academic career path opportunities within the AHP workforce
  • serve as a powerful tool for lobbying for structured support for career progression for AHPs

They are inviting post-doctoral (or final year PhD) clinical academic AHPs to attend a workshop in London to share their clinical-academic career story, and the impact of their research on the lives of patient and/or their carers. The workshops will be led by a freelance creative practitioner (storyteller and writer). The stories can be recorded to camera OR an audio recording over images e.g. photographs/drawings produced on the day. All participants will be invited to a follow-up online workshop, if interested.

Participants will receive travel reimbursement, lunch on the day, and a voucher as a token for their time.

If you are interested, or want to learn more, please complete the brief questionnaire here: Voices of Clinical Academic Allied Health Professionals – Fill in form

For those who express interest, they will follow up directly to address any questions you may have and with a poll to scope availability for a workshop. Participants will be selected to maximise diversity in professional background, career stage, self-identified gender and ethnicity.
