Strabismus and ocular motility

We will promote evidence based clinical practice relating to the orthoptic care of patients with strabismus and ocular motility conditions.

We will support orthoptists at all levels of clinical practice to collaborate and share research evidence, good practice, care pathways, competencies and clinical guidelines relating to strabismus and ocular motility conditions.

Our aims are to:

Promote the role of Orthoptists at all levels of clinical practice working in strabismus and ocular motility, including patients with strabismus and ocular motility conditions, eye tracking, and orbital conditions such as Thyroid Eye Disease

Objectives

To bring together orthoptists and provide a forum for those with a special interest in strabismus and ocular motility conditions, including eye tracking and orbital conditions such as thyroid eye disease.

  • To share evidence based and best practice in strabismus and ocular motility conditions.
  • To develop and share care clinical pathways, guidelines and competencies in strabismus and ocular motility.
  • To share patient information relating to strabismus and ocular motility conditions.
  • To engage with relevant national guidelines in strabismus and ocular motility conditions.
  • To encourage high quality research, service evaluation and audit of strabismus and ocular motility.
  • To provide CPD opportunities for orthoptists at all levels of practice with an interest in strabismus and ocular motility.
