CAG Leads
Mission statement for the group:
- To promote the role of evidence-based assessment and treatment of visual problems in children and adults with special educational needs.
- To encourage best practise, high quality research and audit and to develop and support collaboration between Orthoptists in the UK and Ireland,
- To encourage the development and sharing of resources and guidelines on children and adults with visual impairment and special educational needs.

Low vision
Starting Point leaflet – guide for parents of children with visual impairment
Guide Dogs – Providing family and education support, advice on assistive or adaptive technology and sensory toys, large print books, and recreational activities.
SeeAbility – Provides support and champions better eye care for people with learning disabilities and autism, many of whom have sight loss. Information, useful links, and coping strategies.
Cerebral visual impairment
The CVI Society – Providing family support, raising awareness, training sessions, and other useful links.
CVI Scotland – The information has been written by parents, but with support and advice from multiple professionals. Information, news, resources, and other links.
