Overview
Are you looking to develop your skills and confidence in supporting newly qualified orthoptists?
Places are limited on the BIOS Preceptor Training course, designed to equip orthoptists with the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide effective preceptorship in line with the Orthoptic Preceptorship Framework. Completion of the training fulfils the training requirement for designated BIOS Lead Preceptors.
This interactive online course will cover:
- Using the new Orthoptic Preceptorship Framework and associated resources to structure and guide preceptorship.
- Creating a welcoming, supportive and inclusive preceptorship environment.
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of the preceptor.
- Supporting the transition from student to newly qualified practitioner.
- Facilitating reflection, professional development and clinical learning.
- Providing constructive feedback and supporting learners to identify development needs.
Active participation throughout the session is required. Please ensure you can access Microsoft Teams, including breakout rooms, before attending.
