We are currently advertising for a volunteer to represent BIOS on the Medicines Advisory Group for Interprofessional Collaboration (MAGIC), providing a connection between the group and the Medicines CAG and BIOS more widely.
The Medicines Advisory Group for Interprofessional Collaboration (MAGIC) provides a multidisciplinary forum for strategic discussion, coordination, and shared learning on matters relating to medicines use, prescribing, and medicines management across professional bodies. The group seeks to promote safe, effective, and patient-centred care through collaborative approaches to medicines policy, education, and practice across the UK.
MAGIC Group Objectives
- To provide a collective AHP advisory voice to the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the health departments of the devolved nations on issues relating to medicines practice, regulation, and workforce capability.
- To support interprofessional understanding and alignment of medicines governance, formulary decisions, prescribing roles, and related policy development.
- To share intelligence, evidence, and good practice in medicines optimisation and prescribing across professions.
- To identify emerging challenges or opportunities in medicines-related policy and recommend collaborative responses.
- To facilitate joint consultation responses and position statements where appropriate.
