Lorraine North
All team members involved in the Medical Retina CAG would like to take this opportunity to thank Lorraine North for her amazing leadership and work throughout the previous years as Chair.
Lorraine has a very busy day job but has always found the time to further the profession by inspiring other Orthoptists to become involved in injecting roles or reviewing patients in Medical Retinal clinics.
Lorraine has always been approachable and knowledgeable, and her CAG team look to her as the leading light in the Orthoptic Retinal world. She was instrumental in writing many of the BIOS extended role competencies. Her commitment to progressing our profession in the Ophthalmology professions has been admirable.
Lorraine will remain as a CAG member to support the new Chair(s) in their role.
Lorna McKay
The Glaucoma CAG want to show their appreciation to Lorna McKay for the exemplary Leadership and direction provided in recent years. Lorna has played a pivotal role in promoting and supporting Orthoptists into main positions within Glaucoma clinics across the UK and Ireland.
She has pioneered Glaucoma diagnosis and management in Scotland particularly regarding Laser treatment and the creation of SIGN guidelines.
The challenge to involve Orthoptists in the world of Glaucoma was very demanding and the CAG want to thank Lorna for all the work done in the background and in her own time. This included developing documents for our members of BIOS and National documents such as the OCCCF for RCO.
Lorna’s contributions at CAG meetings and advice to other Specialty CAGs has been much appreciated. Lorna will remain as a CAG member to help the new Chair progress the Specialty further.
