This is the refreshed Strategic Plan, building on the original five-year strategy launched in 2023.
The purpose of this handbook is to provide practical information and guidance for all those responsible for running the British and Irish Orthoptic Society (BIOS). This includes the Honorary Officers, Trustees, and any staff who are employed or otherwise contracted to provide services to BIOS.
Our Membership bylaws stipulate the eligibility for each type of membership offered by the Society.
They were approved by the Board of Trustees of The British and Irish Orthoptic Society on 30 September 2021.
The Memorandum and Articles of Association is the primary governing document of BIOS. It can only be changed by a Special Resolution at our AGM.
Our Articles were originally adopted in 1937, but were most recently updated by Special Resolutions passed on 4th May 2022.
