There is still time for those Heads / Leads who have not yet done so, to contribute to the demographic data we need in order to further respond to the College of Optometrists’ UK eye care workforce supply and demand data modelling project. This significant survey will determine the future of Eyecare in the UK, our role within it and the future funding of associated training needs.
A huge thanks to those of you who have already responded! The current return rate is already 73%. Across the UK, this gives a margin of error of +/- 7% (the possible range that any result would vary by if 100% of returns had been received).
However, once this is broken down to the level of local Integrated Care Systems the margin of error rises in some cases to over +/- 40%. We really want to make the case that Orthoptists are available to undertake enhanced work across the UK, so it is essential that we have as close to a complete data set as possible.
Many of you will have returned similar demographic data with the Activity Survey last year however the return rate at that time was under 60% and it’s essential that the data we provide is as up-to-date as possible.
