These two days of exciting events in Birmingham, are focused on promoting and celebrating the very best of Orthoptics!

All events are being held at The Studio in Birmingham, just a few minutes walk from New Street Station.  Tickets can be bought for each day individually or the full two days.

  • Orthoptic Workforce Development Programme – Launch Event (Thursday 19th June 2025): This year, to celebrate the outcomes from our exciting NHS-funded Orthoptic Workforce Development projects, we will be holding a day-long event, presenting brand new resources including our Professional Development Framework and the revamped BIOS website. Full agenda to follow. Free to members. 9am Registration and ‘Meet your Trustee/BIOS Team networking opportunity, 10.30 project talks start, 5pm finish

 

  • BIOS Awards (Thursday 19th June 2025, PM): For the first time, we will be hosting a full Awards event, to be held the evening before the Symposium, where we will present our usual Fellowships and Special Awards but will also be presenting a series of further awards nominated by members and celebrating excellence across the orthoptic community.
    Free to members. Awards start at 6pm with canapes and drinks served during the event.

  • BIOS Symposium and AGM (Friday 20th June 2025): To be held every two years, alternating with a two-day Conference, the Symposium will have a more clinical focus than the Conference,  with presentations and talks from across the workforce, including the popular student presentations session. Both the BIOS and BOSTU AGMs are also held as part of the day. Full agenda to follow. £75 for members. 9am Registration for a 9.30 start. Lunch at 12.30pm and 4.30pm finish.
