Disability History Month
Disability History Month (DHM) is an annual celebration running from 16 November to 16 December 2022 with the theme for this year being Disability, Health and Wellbeing. People with disability currently make up 22% of the UK’s general population and DHM is a platform to further raise awareness of the different forms of disability which could be visible or not, permanent or temporary / fluctuating. Regardless of the type of disability, every person has an equal right to thrive and for their contributions to be recognised.
This DHM the British and Irish Orthoptic Society celebrates the achievements of all its members with disabilities, whilst encouraging leaders and managers to support their colleagues through compassion and inclusivity.
