BIOS is very pleased to advertise the Chair Designate role taking effect from the AGM in 2022. This is an exceptional opportunity for an Orthoptist who is looking to develop their strategic leadership skills at a national level and be instrumental in the future of BIOS and the orthoptic profession.
The current BIOS Chair, Veronica Greenwood, will complete her second term of office and step down at the AGM in 2023. To ensure effective succession planning of this key role and the sustainability of BIOS we are looking for someone who would shadow the current Chair for 1 year and then act as Chair from the AGM in 2023 for at least 1 term of office (3 years).
The Chair designate:
- A Shadow Term to start from the AGM in 2022 for a period of 1 year which attracts a secondment with funding for 1 day per week.
- Non-voting member of The Board of Trustees and Council for the Shadow Term
- Supported by the Chair, Vice Chair and Trustees and the BIOS administration and Policy officer team.
- Secured funded place on the Future Leaders Programme for Professional Associations (run by the BDA)
- Takes up the position of Chair from the AGM in 2023 which attracts a secondment with funding for 2 days per week
