The British and Irish Orthoptic Society joins in celebrating Pride month this June. This is a global celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community, commemorating the Stonewall Riots that took place in June 1969 which inspired the historic gay liberation movement and the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights.
Within the Allied Health Professions, BIOS is known to be one of the most diverse workforce and this month, we would like to show our support for more inclusivity by celebrating pride month with our LGBTQIA+ members, both qualified and student members by promoting allyship.
